Annie's Organics began in 2006 when my son was born, but the journey started well before that. When I was thinking about becoming pregnant I began researching and trying different natural and organic body products, buying things while traveling overseas, ordering them online and from catalogues, and trolling through various health shops. I was frustrated that I couldn't find products that lived up to my high standards...

I wanted them to be natural, certified organic, safe, effective and affordable. It would be nice if they looked and smelled beautiful as well, but I thought that might be asking a bit much!

Eventually, in 2004 my local health shop started carrying a new line of products called miessence organics. I fell in love with the shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and body cream. They were unlike any of the other products I had been trying... I could pronounce all of the ingredients on the label, they smelled wonderful, they weren't too expensive, and they really worked! I was especially happy to find a safe, natural deodorant that I only had to apply once a day for it to be effective!

Thankfully I found these wonderful products before I got pregnant, so I wasn't worried about harsh synthetic chemicals harming my baby. While I was on maternity leave from my job, I was contemplating starting my own business, so that I could work from home and help other people who were searching for safe, natural, effective personal care products. It was then that I saw an ad in a magazine for miessence and checked out the ONE Group (Organic & Natural Enterprise Group) website for the first time. I was thrilled to discover that there were over 100 organic products in the range. In 2006 Annie's Organics opened online.
